Does optimization change the canvas?

No. Optimize SVG preserves the root viewBox and artwork bounds. Use Trim SVG when the goal is to crop excess canvas.

What does it remove?

It removes metadata, comments, titles, editor-only namespaces, redundant groups, safe default attributes, and unnecessary numeric or path syntax.

Can I see the saving first?

Yes. Foldout builds the optimized SVG in memory and shows the real byte counts and rendered preview before writing a file.

Will it overwrite the original?

Not by default. It writes an -optimized copy. Overwriting requires turning off Keep originals and confirming the choice.
